Announcements

Default opening screen of all unit sites.
Use this link for ongoing notices, announcements or any instructions about the unit during the semester.
First announcement: opening welcome message. Suggest how to use the site; encourage students to check in regularly.

Unit Details

Default link to unit outline on QUT Virtual.
Add information about the administrative/operational aspects of the unit, e.g. timetable, schedule of activities over the semester, unit protocols, instructions for joining tutorial groups.

Learning Resources

Default link to Course Materials Database (CMD)
Use folders to organise and upload all unit content, e.g. lecture notes, learning activities, tutorial topics, references, reading lists, media files, interactive media links, podcasts, FAQs. Link to the CMD Main Menu to request new readings or self-activate existing CMD readings. Consider linking to Ask a Librarian.

Assessment

All information related to assessment should be found at this link. Summary of assessment activities for the semester, due dates and feedback practices and link to faculty assessment policy. Give expanded details of requirements of each assessment activity, with criterion reference sheets. Include self assessment activities.

Collaboration

This section contains links to collaboration tools that are available in this unit. Unit coordinators can set which tools are available under Control Panel > Manage Tools (under Unit Options).

Contact Us

Provide names and contact details of Unit Co-ordinator and all tutors. Include face to face or virtual contact times and general expectations in relation to email response times. Consider linking to SAO, Helpdesk, student support, peer mentors, library support.

Feedback

Include text advising students that this link relates to ‘Closing the loop’ feedback on the unit. Indicate how prior student feedback has informed the design and administration of the current unit.  Invite students to give feedback on specific features of the current unit.
