TALSS Media Development supports academic staff involved in delivering external units by producing teaching materials for print, CD-ROM or for online delivery.

Planning the production of your teaching materials

When planning to produce unit materials, it’s important to be familiar with QUT’s orientation periods, semester and examination weeks for the entire year. The calendar is available from the Student Services' website.

Please use the following form to supply your unit's details:

• Lecturer's Instructions form: Semester 1, 2009

Please return the form to one of the email addresses provided on the form (e.g. to IHS External Studies Support for online units, or to TALSS Media Development for all other external units).

We have designed templates for you to use when writing your new unit. To obtain a copy of these templates or for assistance in using them, please contact us at TALSS Media Development ol.talss@qut.edu.au .

Making changes to existing external unit materials

If we have produced your unit in the past, we may have the latest digitial copy of the document on file. [Sometimes schools have handled these units in-house.] You can make changes to pre-existing unit materials by requesting a current version of your unit from TALSS Media Development at ol.talss@qut.edu.au . Once you have this document, please remember to track changes when using MS Word which will allows us to clearly identify where changes have been made and to incorporate your amendments into a new version. Your school will save money as this helps us reduce time spent on desktop publishing and editing.
