In 2007, QUT is migrating all of its online learning and teaching resources to the Blackboard learning management system. For semester one 2007, the Faculties of IT and Health will be using Blackboard for their first semester units, and in semester two, 2007 most other faculties (excluding the faculties of Business and Science) are using QUT Blackboard. From semester 1 2008, all faculties will be using QUT Blackboard. QUT will continue to host OLT for the remainder of 2007, until all units of all faculties have been migrated to QUT Blackboard. You can access OLT at https://olt.qut.edu.au. Staff and students in the migrated faculties can access QUT Blackboard at https://blackboard.qut.edu.au. Every current unit, hosted on either of these systems, has a website available online which the unit coordinator and their nominated representatives can administer. Website administrators can create, edit, archive and delete their own resources on the web site, such as text, files, images, quizzes, and interactive elements. Both systems also offer a range of communication tools such as discussion forums, chat rooms, blogs and wikis. In 2007 TALSS Learning Designers will be engaged in assisting with the migration of all units from OLT to QUT Blackboard, and staff will have an opportunity to meet with them to discuss ways in which they can enhance student learning outcomes through the design of their online learning environments. OLT will continue to be fully supported until QUT Blackboard has been completely implemented. No further new tool development or system enhancement will be undertaken for the OLT system in 2007. The OLT Status website shows planned outages information as well as estimated OLT service restoration time. Services for Students
