How to Register for an Event

Registration to TALSS staff development programs is done wholly online through Staff Connect. Records of any training you have completed with us is stored in your personal profile to allow you and your supervisor to keep track of the programs you have attended during your time at QUT.

Step 1

Go to StaffConnect via QUT Virtual

Step 2

Log-in to StaffConnect, then from the main menu, choose:

  • Individual,
  • then Training,
  • then Training Requests

Step 3

Click "Add new record" to view Category list. Select the category the course is listed under.

The Academic Staff Development Programs and QUT Blackboard Workshops will be listed under the Teaching and Learning [TEACH] category. Carrick Grants are listed under the Teaching and Learning Carrick - Grants [TLCG] category. Carrick Awards are listed under the Teaching and Learning Carrick - Awards [TLCA] category. Please refer back to the program homepage for unique registration instructions (Category and course codes).

Step 4

Select your nominated course for further details. Select NOMINATE to register and enter details in the fields provided. To submit your application, select INSERT (located at the end of the form).

Your nomination will be forwarded to your supervisor for approval, and then submitted to TALSS. It is your responsibility to ensure that your supervisor has approved your nomination. You will receive a email from TALSS to confirm your registration. Please contact us if this is not the case.

Session Cancellation

Please note that sessions may be cancelled 3 days prior to the event if minimum numbers have not been met. This will be at the discretion of the session facilitator and registrants will be notified accordingly.
